Although not able to work on our project sites until about six weeks ago, we used the lockdown months to very good effect in order to make improvements to our organisation, processes and manufacturing facility near Dores.

And with a further influx of interest in our healthy homes as a result of the pandemic, we’ve also been able to significantly increase our workforce – a welcome move for the Highland economy.

As a summary of what we’ve been up to …

A double workshop shift is now in operation, with this allowing us to increase production in order to meet demand. This new approach has also allowed us to ensure our workforce is better able to safely socially distance in the workshop environment.

To implement the double shift but also to ensure greater efficiency and increased output right across the business, to date we’ve employed 16 new people including joiners, a designer, two technicians, a quantity surveyor, groundworkers, front of office, plumber, decorators, and an electrician. We do still have vacancies for further skilled joiners and ground workers – see here for more info.

Outdoor meeting room 2

We’ve made improvements to our facilities right across the board, with significant upgrades to the workshop, reorganised yard including a much improved surface, new toilet facilities and office block, plus a segregated carpark for shift workers, office workers and visitors. We’ve also put in place a covered outdoor meeting area, with this providing a safe and relaxing space for both internal meetings and those with our customers.
