Catriona joined MAKAR in 2009 during her Part 1 studies at the Mackintosh School of Architecture. She returned after completing her Diploma in Architecture in 2013. Her Honours year dissertation focussed on the progressive use of prefabricated timber-frame construction in Scottish house building,
Catriona strongly believes that design is at its best when informed with a knowledge of construction. As such she has participated in several building workshops since 2012 including a waterside pavilion project in Slovenia, a collection of bothy structures on the Isle of Skye and a boat house extension on the Isle of Tiree with Tog Studio.
Catriona is certified as a Passive House Designer, and has visited Passive houses and designers worldwide, including Japan and New England.
